Sr. Mechanical Designer

Responsibilities

• Design complex new equipment, machinery, and components such as valves, hydraulic assemblies, and actuators for advanced nuclear power plant designs.
• Create schematic and assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
• Generate manufacturing drawings for parts, determine manufacturing processes, and specify tolerancing requirements.
• Develop proposal documentation for RFQs and RFIs.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and project management teams to transition systems from prototype to production.

Requirements

• 6-10+ years of Mechanical Design experience.
• Proficiency in CAD modeling using SolidWorks.
• Proficiency in GD&T and related standards for drawing creation.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, grinding, lapping, additive manufacturing, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Must be a US Citizen or green card holder.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with nuclear industry standards such as ASME, ANSI, API, or IEEE.
• Experience with engineering processes like FMEA and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Knowledge of industrial hydraulics, electrical equipment, or control systems (PLCs).
• Experience with rubber and seal design and optimization.
• Familiarity with layout and schematics.
