Sr Materials Costing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely material pricing information to support competitive quotations for current customers and new business development.
• Assume ownership of materials costing activities, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing is delivered by established due dates.
• Identify preferred suppliers consistent with quote strategies and supply chain guidelines.
• Manage repricing strategies for existing customers to balance competitiveness with profit margins.
• Generate reports and prepare data for supplier feedback, workload analysis, and key metrics.
• Maintain supplier data and support data for total cost calculations and currency conversions.
• Implement standardized costing procedures to ensure consistent and repeatable outputs.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to lower-level technical staff and drive process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering.
• 5-10 years of experience in quoting, commodity, or purchasing roles.
• Knowledge of quoting principles and blueprint reading.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong organizational and math skills.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• ISM seminars or membership.
• CPM or APP certification.
• APICS seminars or certification.
• KARASS Negotiating training.
