About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight, monitoring, and reporting on credit risk for designated real estate secured lending portfolios.
- Develop and monitor credit risk management frameworks, including governance practices and standards.
- Lead risk workstreams for strategic transformation initiatives, such as digitization, AI adoption, and advanced analytics.
- Partner with Risk, Technology, and Product teams to embed risk requirements into solution design and delivery.
- Act as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations, interpreting new requirements and assessing impacts on governance.
- Manage external vendor relationships, including due diligence and performance oversight.
- Provide effective challenge and strategic input to senior leaders to ensure initiatives are scalable and compliant.
- Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making and recommend business priorities.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience in credit risk management or a related field.
- Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Expert knowledge of real estate lending and credit risk management practices.
- In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and legal documentation.
- Extensive experience with risk policy frameworks and quality control/testing frameworks.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, influence, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven ability to manage ambiguity and lead cross-functional collaboration.
