Sr. Manager, Portfolio Management

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage enterprise-wide product development portfolio management practices, including capacity planning and resource management.
• Develop and implement portfolio governance processes for NPDI, ETO, and SFA projects.
• Design and maintain a formal cross-business unit project approval process integrated with phase-gate readiness.
• Build standardized processes for analyzing and reporting resource capacity by product line, function, and region.
• Deliver recurring executive-level insights and presentations regarding portfolio mix, risks, status, and resourcing.
• Assess and improve portfolio tools such as Smartsheet, Power BI, and AppSheet to support scalable decision-making.
• Monitor portfolio health to identify systemic risks and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in project or program management within a product development environment.
• 3+ years of direct experience in portfolio management or strategic PMO leadership.
• Proven success in implementing or improving phase-gate processes (NPDI, ETO, SFA).
• Proficiency with project and portfolio tools including Smartsheet, AppSheet, Power BI, or MS Project.
• Demonstrated ability to lead executive-level reporting and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong analytical mindset for capacity modeling, scenario planning, and KPI tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree (MBA, M.Eng., or related discipline).
• Formal Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
• Portfolio Management Certification (e.g., MoP).
• Agile and/or Lean Six Sigma certification.
