About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a department of mechanical engineering professionals, front-line managers, and subject matter experts.
- Provide technical guidance, career development, and performance management for the engineering team.
- Manage staff utilization, support workforce planning, and develop the skill mix for the existing and future portfolio.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects to ensure they meet quality, budget, and timeline constraints.
- Drive functional metrics in project execution, innovation, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies, including ITAR, EAR, and CUI data handling.
- Participate in strategic planning and serve as a technical advisor for complex engineering issues.
- Review program portfolios to ensure performance and ensure all bids are compliant with requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with at least 12 years of related engineering experience (or equivalent experience as specified).
- At least 5 years of experience in UAS technology, electronics packaging, or weapon and sensor design.
- At least 5 years of experience in a functional management or leadership role.
- Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of managing and delivering large-scale developmental engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering and product lifecycle management.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Familiarity with defense industry standards and practices.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
