About the role
Responsibilities
- Guide development, implementation, and certification of dynamic systems, airframe, flight systems, and interiors components
- Ensure structural integrity of rotors and airframe through analysis and testing
- Manage requirements development, validation, and supplier coordination for avionics, actuation, and landing gear
- Plan and assign project responsibilities across the M&FS organization
- Develop and manage schedules, budgets, work scope, and risk for multiple programs
- Define strategic direction for staffing, technology decisions, and manufacturing processes
- Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams across multiple disciplines
- Establish a culture of quality and safety within the M&FS function
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical or equivalent disciplines
- Minimum 10 years experience in fixed- or rotary-wing aircraft concept development, design, and certification
- Minimum 7 years experience with composite design, analysis, and production
- Experience with FAA Part 23/25/27/29 programs
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage complex budgets and schedules
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with aviation industry groups such as CMH17, ASTM F44, or RTCA
- Experience implementing new material and manufacturing techniques for FAA acceptance
- Experience in aerospace development program planning and technology road-mapping
- Experience in multi-site organizational leadership
