Sr. Manager Lab Operations

Responsibilities

• Lead the Analytical Chemistry department, driving operational excellence and strategic growth in chemical characterization and testing.
• Manage department KPIs including quality, utilization, and turnaround times to maintain a competitive advantage.
• Oversee talent management, including direct report supervision, performance standards, and succession planning.
• Drive business growth by partnering cross-functionally with Sales and Consulting teams to increase profitable volume.
• Manage business unit P&L, budgets, and financial metrics, including CapEx planning and ROI modeling.
• Optimize testing workflows and resource scheduling to meet client expectations and business needs.
• Ensure strict regulatory compliance with GMP, GLP, ISO, and other applicable standards.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase laboratory efficiencies and reduce waste.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of applicable supervisory experience.
• 5+ years of progressive operations experience.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Outlook.
• Strong people management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Laboratory science education, experience, or professional certifications.
• Chemistry-related scientific education and business/management training.
• Deep knowledge of Analytical Chemistry principles, including Extractables & Leachables testing, gas & liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry.
• Familiarity with ISO10993 and ISO18562 standards.
