Sr. Manager Lab Operations - Bioburden

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day laboratory operations for the Bioburden department, overseeing approximately 40 employees.
• Drive departmental KPIs including quality, turnaround times, utilization, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and execute process improvement initiatives to enhance performance and scalability.
• Manage people and talent, including coaching managers, conducting performance discussions, and driving employee engagement.
• Ensure strict compliance with GMP, GLP, ISO, and other applicable regulatory standards.
• Partner with Sales, Consulting, and Quality leadership to support business growth and customer success.
• Oversee budget planning, capital expenditures, and long-term operational strategy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in laboratory or manufacturing operations.
• Proven leadership experience within regulated environments (medical device, pharmaceutical, or similar).
• Strong microbiology knowledge and hands-on laboratory experience.
• Experience with equipment and facility validation.
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in tissue manufacturing or radiation sterilization environments.
• Background in laboratory operations management within the medical device or pharmaceutical industries.
• Experience managing microbiological testing services.
