Sr. Manager, Global Category Management

Responsibilities

• Own and execute global category strategies for assigned direct material categories, including RFx, negotiations, and supplier selection.
• Deliver measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and value engineering outcomes.
• Provide direction, governance, and coaching to a team of global sourcing managers and analysts.
• Lead executive-level supplier relationships and establish governance models for strategic suppliers.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to ensure supply continuity and optimize product specifications.
• Monitor commodity markets to develop mitigation strategies for cost and supply risk.
• Drive standardization of procurement processes, tools, and data across global regions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 7-10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management, preferably in direct materials.
• 3-5+ years of people leadership experience managing global teams.
• Experience working within global manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), PowerBI, and project planning tools.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA degree.
• Sourcing experience specifically with metals or electrical component categories.
• Experience with ERP and eSourcing platforms such as JDE, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle, Ariba, or Coupa.
• Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement background.
• APICS or ISM certifications (e.g., CPIM, CPM, CIRM).
