About the role
Responsibilities
- Own and execute global category strategies for assigned direct material categories, including RFx, negotiations, and supplier selection.
- Deliver measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and value engineering outcomes.
- Provide direction, governance, and coaching to a team of global sourcing managers and analysts.
- Lead executive-level supplier relationships and establish governance models for strategic suppliers.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to ensure supply continuity and optimize product specifications.
- Monitor commodity markets to develop mitigation strategies for cost and supply risk.
- Drive standardization of procurement processes, tools, and data across global regions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 7-10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management, preferably in direct materials.
- 3-5+ years of people leadership experience managing global teams.
- Experience working within global manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), PowerBI, and project planning tools.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA degree.
- Sourcing experience specifically with metals or electrical component categories.
- Experience with ERP and eSourcing platforms such as JDE, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle, Ariba, or Coupa.
- Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement background.
- APICS or ISM certifications (e.g., CPIM, CPM, CIRM).
