About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain site EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for site job tasks.
- Analyze EHS data trends to implement effective control strategies.
- Serve as an active member of the Site Leadership Team to identify potential risks and drive continual improvement.
- Partner with the Global Industrial Hygiene team to ensure compliance with toxicology and health hazard requirements.
- Oversee employee engagement initiatives such as Behavior Based Safety and EHS Committees.
- Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and ensure effective, sustainable corrective actions.
- Manage environmental inspections, permit requirements, and data collection.
- Lead site-level EHS customer or regulatory audits and inspections.
- Provide technical EHS expertise and ensure accurate management of Safety Data Sheets and chemical inventories.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an EHS-related field.
- 10+ years of related work experience.
- Advanced EHS certifications, such as CSP or CIH.
- Proven experience as a site EHS Leader.
- Experience in people management and developing others.
- Advanced computer skills and ability to perform complex digital tasks.
- Strong reasoning, problem-solving, and technical report writing skills.
- Ability to travel domestically (5%) and internationally (2%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in an EHS-related field.
- Experience managing EHS staff across multiple facilities.
- Experience within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
