Sr Manager Component Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead component selection, qualification, and approval processes for new and existing products
• Ensure compliance with RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, and other global regulations
• Manage component lifecycle, including obsolescence, alternates, and risk mitigation
• Drive failure analysis and root cause investigation for component-related issues
• Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of component engineers
• Define and implement best practices, SOPs, and engineering processes
• Collaborate with R&D, procurement, and quality teams to support strategic sourcing

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in component engineering or a related domain
• Proven experience managing or leading a team
• Strong knowledge of electronic and mechanical components and systems
• Proficiency with PLM tools, ERP systems, and component databases
• Expertise in component reliability, compliance, and lifecycle management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in high-reliability industries such as automotive, aerospace, telecom, or medical devices
• Deep knowledge of global compliance regulations
• Exposure to supplier audits and qualification processes
• Experience using obsolescence tools like SiliconExpert or IHS
