Sr. Legal Counsel - Compliance

Responsibilities

• Serve as a compliance advisor to Samsung Electronics America and its North America Headquarters divisions
• Proactively identify risk areas and develop tools to drive compliance, specifically for the North American Ads business
• Conduct internal investigations related to suspected compliance violations, including interviews and drafting detailed reports
• Develop and implement compliance communications, training programs, and policies
• Provide legal counseling on diverse topics such as government contracting, import/export, and sustainability
• Manage the investigations database and compliance hotline
• Support the Customer Care team regarding accessibility compliance and the Americans with Disabilities Act
• Review Conflict of Interest and Gifts & Hospitality requests on a daily basis
• Support vendor onboarding and customer due diligence processes

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree
• 5-10 years of legal experience in corporate compliance and ethics programs
• Experience conducting regulatory and corporate compliance risk analysis
• Experience providing business-oriented legal advice and efficient solutions
• Proven ability to conduct internal investigations and manage multiple stakeholders
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and executive presence skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of in-house legal experience
• Experience conducting end-to-end investigations
• Background in compliance risk assessment, risk management, or auditing
• Experience representing corporations before regulatory agencies
• Knowledge of accessibility, trade and customs, government procurement, or environmental regulations
