Sr Lead Infrastructure Engineer — Hyper-V Virtualization & Infrastructure Engineering

Responsibilities

• Architect Hyper-V cluster designs across global pools, including WSFC, live migration, S2D, and vSwitch/SET topologies.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, and compliance using PowerShell, DSC, and platform APIs.
• Develop and enhance a custom C#/.NET 8 workload management platform to scale orchestration workflows.
• Benchmark compute and storage performance to validate changes and guide capacity decisions.
• Diagnose full-stack issues across compute, storage, networking, clustering, and hypervisor layers.
• Partner with security teams to harden environments and remediate vulnerabilities at scale.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in enterprise or large-scale infrastructure environments.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Hyper-V at scale (WSFC, live migration, S2D, and virtual networking).
• Strong PowerShell skills for automation and configuration management.
• Experience performing full-stack performance auditing across compute, storage, and networking layers.
• Working proficiency in C#/.NET to maintain and extend automation services.
• Experience building or operating CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation.
• Ability to use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support engineering workflows with strong validation habits.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating dual-hypervisor environments (e.g., VMware ESXi or KVM).
• Strong server hardware fluency (Intel Xeon, AMD EPYC, NVMe, GPU).
• Hands-on experience with advanced virtual networking (VLANs, SDN, load balancing).
• Experience with Microsoft System Center tooling (VMM, SCOM, SCCM).
• Practical experience with performance benchmarking tools like diskspd, fio, or VMFleet.
