Sr. Lead Engineer, Value Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end VAVE projects from ideation to implementation, focusing on pump assemblies and components.
• Perform Function Analysis and develop FAST diagrams to identify value opportunities and eliminate non-value-adding costs.
• Provide technical leadership in pump design and development, including hydraulic components like impellers and volutes.
• Create and review 3D models and 2D drawings using PTC Creo, ensuring strict change control and configuration discipline.
• Apply advanced GD&T to drive robust tolerancing for manufacturability and quality.
• Conduct benchmarking and teardown activities to compare competitive designs and cost structures.
• Collaborate with Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to validate process capability and implementation readiness.

Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience with a strong focus on pump design and development (centrifugal, mixed flow, or axial).
• Demonstrated expertise in VAVE tools, specifically Function Analysis and FAST diagram development.
• Proficiency in PTC Creo for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and expert-level GD&T application.
• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized institute.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to validate concepts through engineering judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, welding, and injection molding.
• Experience with plastic part design (DFM, ribs, drafts, and gating considerations).
• Familiarity with Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, FMEA, MSA) and conducting Kaizen or VAVE workshops.
• Advanced data analytics skills using Excel, Power BI, or AI tools for engineering productivity.
• Knowledge of material standards for common pump metals and polymers.
