Sr. Lab & Automation Engineer – Powertrain

Responsibilities

• Lead testing and operation of powertrain labs ensuring accuracy, safety, and test integrity
• Configure and operate powertrain static labs (HIL, HV labcar/buck, battery chamber) and dynamic labs (E-motor dyno, powertrain system dynos)
• Define lab plans according to powertrain function integration and test & validation plans
• Manage lab maintenance, hardware/software updates, and lab safety
• Implement electrical safety protocols and generate risk assessments, procedures, and checklists
• Automate test cases and reports to increase testing coverage and reduce time
• Execute automated testing on component and system levels in collaboration with software teams
• Support failure analysis, reporting, and issue resolution tracking

Requirements

• 8+ years in high voltage system integration, test & validation
• 5+ years of experience in powertrain labs
• Experience with HIL systems (e.g., ETAS/DSPACE), HV labcar/buck, or powertrain dynos
• Strong knowledge of electric vehicle functions and architectures (HV and EE)
• Proficiency in software tools such as CANoe and CANape/INCA
• Proficiency in LV and HV analog measurement tools and equipment
• BA or Master engineering degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in thermal testing and measurement equipment
• Experience with ETAS Labcar, dSPACE Control Desk, or AVL Puma
• Experience with automation software like ECU-TEST, Labcar-automation, or Automation desk
• Electrical safety certification up to 1500VDC/1000VAC (OSHA, TUV, OEM)
