Sr Java Back-End Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs within a microservice architecture
• Provide technical direction and mentor engineers through design reviews and technical guidance
• Implement modern architectural designs, including asynchronous messaging and event-driven workflows
• Develop containerized workloads and contribute to Kubernetes deployments and troubleshooting
• Build automated unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability during the build process
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Improve developer velocity by contributing to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and engineering standards
• Actively participate in Scrum Agile events and provide technical guidance during team discussions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of professional software development experience delivering production systems
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building RESTful APIs or gRPC services
• Experience with microservices architecture, including service decomposition and API design
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD systems, Agile methodologies, and modern SDLC practices
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills in distributed and Linux-based environments
• Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with distributed data stores such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or Kafka
• Knowledge of observability stacks including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK/EFK
• Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tools like Helm, ArgoCD, or Kustomize
• Familiarity with hardening systems for security and compliance through threat modeling and secrets management
• Experience improving system reliability via load testing, capacity planning, and resiliency patterns
