About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee import and export operations, ensuring smooth execution and full compliance with local and global requirements.
  • Coordinate end-to-end logistics processes, working closely with forwarders, internal teams, and supply chain stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage key documentation, including invoices, electronic manifests, and regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Act as a key point of contact for Customs Brokers, supervising performance and regularly auditing customs expenses.
  • Supervise HS code assignments to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Monitor shipments in transit and proactively address risks to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Identify and implement efficient transportation strategies to balance cost, service level, and operational needs.
  • Analyze freight expenses and drive initiatives to optimize costs and improve logistics performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Foreign Trade, Customs, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in import/export, logistics, or supply chain operations within the Healthcare industry (Medtech or Pharma).
  • Familiarity with COFEPRIS processes and applicable regulations.
  • Strong understanding of global trade processes and management of Customs Brokers, Forwarders, and 3PLs.
  • Experience managing export/import documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced Intermediate English proficiency (B2 level).
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or JDA, and data tools like Power BI.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within Mexican Customs or highly regulated customs environments.
  • Exposure to regulatory audits and formal compliance processes.
  • A continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency and innovation.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
