Sr. Hadoop/Hive Consultant

Responsibilities

• Collaboratively develop a business intelligence (BI) solution using Hadoop (Hive)
• Coordinate with and support the solutions architect
• Develop and implement ETL processes to populate the Hadoop cluster and BI server
• Develop data transformations and extractions in Hadoop/Hive for reporting and analytical requirements
• Implement administrative access and security controls
• Gather user requirements and develop early iteration enhancements

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Familiarity with NoSQL and distributed architecture (Hadoop)
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Experience designing and scripting functional and unit tests
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Cloudera distribution software
• Experience with Tableau BI and data visualization
• Experience with Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban
