About the role
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, test, adjust, and repair communication equipment including radio and antenna systems
- Utilize specialized test equipment to perform proper installations and repairs
- Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and contractors to support maintenance activities
- Provide on-the-job training to team members
- Provide 24/7 on-call support, including after hours, weekends, and holidays
- Travel up to 50% to support network services
- Obtain an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator's License (GROL) within 6 months of hire
- Assist with Facilities and EH&S tasks
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)
- Completion of a Practical Electronics course or a minimum of two years of practical electronics experience
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb towers and stepped poles up to 50 feet in height
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Ability to obtain and maintain SIDA badging, including fingerprint-based criminal history checks
Preferred Qualifications
- Active FCC General Radiotelephone Operator's License (GROL)
- Experience in fault isolation, restoration, and adjustment of communication equipment
- Experience analyzing system failures and identifying equipment malfunctions
- Experience performing testing and repair at the component and board level
- Ability to read and follow technical manuals, schematics, and drawings
