About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct failure analysis utilizing electrical fault isolation techniques, physical analysis, spectroscopy, and chemical characterization.
- Consult on corrective actions, method development, and design/manufacturing best practices to drive measurable improvements to hardware reliability.
- Interface with Senior and Principal engineering staff to identify and execute lab method development for enterprise compute assemblies, including power distribution, networking, and thermal management components.
- Act as a formal liaison between SPICE lab and cross-functional teams to coordinate failure analysis campaigns and triage devices from reliability qualifications.
- Develop failure analysis reports to build consensus around corrective actions for the business.
Requirements
- Master's degree or above in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics, or an equivalent field.
- Proficiency in electrical characterization techniques for fault isolation, including curve trace and DMM.
- Experience with materials characterization tools such as SEM/EDS, FTIR, XRF, and CT x-ray.
- Experience working with enterprise compute thermal solutions (e.g., 3D vapor chambers, immersion/liquid cooling, or evaporative cooling).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with thermal characterization techniques for NTD or fault isolation, such as lock-in thermography or OBIRCH.
- Experience developing and executing testing for thermal interface materials and/or heatsink devices.
