About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded application software for next-generation EV battery management systems (BMS).
  • Define software functional requirements in collaboration with system engineering.
  • Create test cases and execute software unit test plans, test scripts, and test automation.
  • Lead functional safety and cybersecurity initiatives for the BMS.
  • Implement software safety mechanisms based on functional safety requirements.
  • Manage software version control, release, data dictionary, calibration, and documentation.
  • Oversee the test process to verify functionalities on bench, HIL, and in-vehicle environments.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design, validate, and optimize BMS hardware and low-level software performance.

Requirements

  • MS/BS in Control Systems (EE, ME, CS, or related degrees).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with BMS, High Voltage Battery Systems, and Li-Ion Batteries.
  • Expertise in model-based software development using MATLAB/Simulink.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Functional Safety (ISO 26262).
  • Proficiency in CAN communication protocols and related engineering tools.
  • Experience with Model-, Software-, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (MIL/SIL/HIL) testing for ECUs.
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR software architecture and automotive diagnostics (OBD-II, UDS).
  • Experience with Agile software development and sprint-based planning.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Control Systems, ME, EE, or Aerospace with a focus on Vehicle Systems and Dynamics.
  • Skills in optimal control design, Linear Programming, or Dynamic Programming optimization.
  • Understanding of automotive cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 21434 or UNECE R155).
  • Experience with powertrain control systems development at a major OEM or Tier-1 supplier.
  • Proficiency with CAN communication tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, or Kvaser.
