Sr. Engineer, Facilities and Utilities

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and project execution support for site infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering, and fire/life safety initiatives.
• Lead capital and infrastructure projects including site utilities, facility modifications, and manufacturing support infrastructure.
• Coordinate cross-functional project activities from concept through commissioning, qualification, startup, and turnover.
• Provide technical oversight for architectural, MEP, civil, structural, and fire protection engineering designs.
• Ensure compliance with local municipal codes, fire and life safety requirements, environmental regulations, and corporate standards.
• Serve as the primary site interface for town officials, fire marshals, building inspectors, and external engineering firms.
• Partner with Manufacturing, EHSS, and Automation teams to minimize operational impact during project execution.
• Manage engineering design processes, project funding cycles, bid processes, and equipment commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance for existing system repairs and maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Engineering experience OR
• Master's degree and 2 years of Engineering experience OR
• Associate's degree and 8 years of Engineering experience OR
• High school diploma and 10 years of Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of IBC, NFPA, and OSHA regulations.
• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated GMP manufacturing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with capital project management, construction management, and Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q).
• Familiarity with FM Global standards and municipal permitting processes.
• Technical expertise with HVAC, chillers, boilers, compressed air, building automation systems, and fire protection systems.
