About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, safety-critical C/C++ code for real-time embedded system platforms.
- Design software architecture and firmware implementation with a focus on quality, testability, and maintainability for high-volume manufacturing.
- Develop firmware for rack power distribution products using microcontrollers to measure sensor data, calculate energy metering, and provide precision control.
- Participate in sustaining activities, including the diagnosis and resolution of defects in existing products.
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and project management to ensure product development meets schedule, budget, and performance requirements.
- Maintain organized project records and documentation throughout the product life cycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in embedded firmware development.
- Proficiency in C and deep understanding of coding best practices for portability and reusability.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), such as FreeRTOS.
- Experience programming 8, 16, and 32-bit microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, TI MSP, or Microchip PIC).
- Experience implementing BSP level boot loaders and communication drivers (RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI).
- Ability to use troubleshooting tools including multimeters, oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, and logic analyzers.
- Strong analytical, collaborative, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms and analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) techniques.
- Experience with development tools such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, MPLAB, and Eclipse IDE.
