About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform electronic materials failure analysis and component evaluation for devices ranging from passive components to complex microcircuits.
- Conduct root cause analysis using laboratory equipment including digital photo-documentation, electrical test equipment, Sono-scan, and SEM-EDS.
- Manage the full analysis lifecycle, including initial evaluation, photo-documentation, electrical testing, and destructive testing.
- Write comprehensive final reports that substantiate failure conclusions and present technical findings.
- Apply knowledge of electrical component materials such as ceramics, glasses, metal wire bonding, conformal coating, and solder.
Requirements
- University Degree or equivalent experience with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, OR an Advanced Degree with minimum 3 years of experience.
- Proven experience in electronic component failure analysis.
- Experience analyzing microcircuits and both active and passive electrical components.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Material Science.
- Knowledge of Government Component Documents and specifications (e.g., MIL-STD, MIL-PRF, MIL-HDBK).
- Experience testing RF devices and interconnects.
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as DMM, Curve Tracers, and Parametric Analyzers.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and perform circuit analysis.
- Strong data collection and technical writing skills.
