Sr. Electrical Engineering Design Technician

Responsibilities

• Debug and perform design validation of board and system-level electronic designs
• Conduct testing of mechanical, electrical, and optical components, subsystems, and systems
• Build prototypes, test fixtures, and experimental setups for high-speed electromechanical assemblies
• Document experimental conditions and test results accurately
• Manage lab operations and equipment, including necessary calibrations
• Design and verify cables and interface with external vendors for complex parts
• Inspect incoming parts and maintain a safe, productive work environment

Requirements

• Associate's degree and 10+ years of professional experience
• Extensive experience reworking PCBs and soldering to add or remove components
• Proficiency with lab equipment including Oscilloscopes, DVM, Function generators, and soldering stations
• Experience using at least one data acquisition system
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
• Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Altium Designer
• Simple mechanical machining skills
• 3D mechanical CAD experience
• Programming of motor drives
• Junior-level PCB layout and design experience
