About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the simulation, design, and validation of AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC power conversion topologies.
- Manage complex projects from initial requirements and component selection through schematic capture, PCB layout, and firmware development.
- Design and debug embedded systems, including MCU selection, peripheral integration, and real-time control algorithms.
- Create comprehensive design documentation, including firmware architecture, test plans, and bill of materials.
- Research new technologies and engage with prospective suppliers to drive innovation.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers while driving project schedules and key performance metrics.
- Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and logic analyzers to qualify designs against regulatory standards (UL, CE, ANSI).
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems or power electronics design.
- Strong understanding of analog circuit design, troubleshooting, and semiconductor devices (BJT, MOSFET, rectifiers).
- Proficiency in SMPS topologies (Flyback, Forward, Buck, Boost, LLC, etc.) and digital control implementation.
- Experience with C-based firmware development, including interrupts, real-time control, and state machines.
- Hands-on experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN.
- Ability to travel up to 10% for domestic and international business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics.
- Experience implementing closed-loop control and feedback mechanisms in embedded systems.
- Passion for prototyping new technologies in motor control, battery electronics, and charger technology.
- Strong systemic problem-solving skills and the ability to drive design trade-off discussions.
