About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of electrical switchgear systems, including medium and low voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, and control panels.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, layout drawings, and BOM lists according to client specifications and budget.
- Oversee the integration of switchgear with power distribution and control systems.
- Manage switchgear design projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
- Conduct thorough testing, validation, and creation of test scripts to ensure functionality of control schemes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, to meet project requirements.
- Identify and implement improvements in switchgear design and control systems through R&D efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in electrical design, specifically focusing on switchgear and control systems.
- Expertise in switchgear design, electrical protection systems, and control panel design.
- Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or ETAP.
- Strong understanding of industry standards including IEC, ANSI, UL, and IEEE.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience with advanced switchgear technologies, smart grid systems, digital substations, or IoT applications.
