About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive health and safety support across assigned geographic or organizational sections.
  • Manage technical work in environmental, health, safety, PSM, and RMP disciplines to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain programs, systems, and procedures to prevent HS incidents and hazards.
  • Lead and conduct investigations of incidents, accidents, injuries, or complaints.
  • Oversee plant contractor safety functions, including strategic planning, budgeting, and performance management.
  • Develop and conduct employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
  • Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice to site leadership and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership to develop common H&S/PSM/RMP strategies and ensure policy integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Health & Safety, Science, or a related field AND a minimum of 6 years of related work experience.
  • OR High school diploma/GED AND 10 years of minimum required related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHST, or PMP.
  • Advanced degree in science, health, safety, or a related technical or business field.
  • More than 5 years of experience in power generation or transmission/distribution operations.
  • Experience in the chemical industry, refinery, or IGCC environments.
  • Proven experience with PSM/RMP program implementation and facilitation.
  • Experience interfacing with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in contractor management and safety performance oversight.
