Sr. Director/VP, Biology

Responsibilities

• Build and oversee a research organization of discovery biology and pharmacology scientists
• Prioritize workflows to discover tissue-targeting shuttles and therapeutics
• Lead cross-functional drug discovery project teams from concept through IND
• Deliver scientific presentations to leadership, board members, and investors
• Partner with functional leads on staffing, resourcing, and critical-path activities
• Provide technical mentorship on experimental design and data interpretation
• Serve as the scientific liaison with external partner R&D leadership

Requirements

• PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, neuroscience, or related discipline
• 10+ years of biopharma R&D experience (for VP level) or 7+ years (for Senior Director level)
• Proven track record of advancing discovery programs to Development Candidate or Phase 1
• Experience with multiple modalities such as antibodies, ADCs, or oligonucleotides
• Deep domain knowledge in a major therapeutic area, preferably CNS
• Experience building and managing multidisciplinary discovery organizations of 5+ scientists
• Expertise in bioanalytical assay design and high-throughput automation
• Working knowledge of CMC, developability, and IND-enabling requirements
