Sr Director of Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for engineering and architecture across product areas
• Engage with business stakeholders to translate complex problems into technical specifications
• Deliver and own end-to-end low latency solutions using industry best practices
• Champion engineering excellence through coaching, mentoring, and resolving impediments
• Partner with Architecture and SRE teams to drive modernization and non-functional requirements
• Create and maintain detailed technology roadmaps and work streams
• Manage governance for coding decisions, regulatory compliance, and control obligations
• Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business and technology teams

Requirements

• 10+ years of applied software engineering experience
• 5+ years of experience in technical leadership managing technologists
• Proven experience working within the Payments domain
• Extensive experience designing full stack cloud-native distributed systems using Java Spring
• Proficiency in handling large volumes of data with PostgreSQL or Oracle databases
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies and software engineering best practices
• Demonstrated ability to influence across highly matrixed, complex organizations

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of building AI applications or agents
• Experience working in highly regulated environments such as Banking or Finance
