Sr. Director, Global Payroll

Responsibilities

• Oversee accuracy and operational efficiency for global payroll processes in multi-state and international environments
• Manage global payroll service providers and ensure compliance with international privacy regulations like GDPR
• Partner with HR to support timely and compliant onboarding and separation processes
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international legal and tax requirements
• Support the accounting team with payroll journal entries and account reconciliations for month, quarter, and year-end close
• Design short-term and long-term strategies for continuous improvement and optimization of payroll systems and processes
• Lead the global rollout of centralized payroll processes and build scalable international payroll teams
• Mentor staff and manage departmental performance, including hiring, training, and professional development

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management
• 12-15 years of multi-state and international payroll experience within a global, multi-national company
• Proven managerial experience building and leading high-performing teams
• Hands-on knowledge of payroll and timekeeping systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong understanding of human resources, corporate finance, and global compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Payroll Professional (CCP) designation
• Experience with Ultimate Software
• Advanced Excel skills
