Sr. Director, Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual and preliminary design of microgrid projects for diverse customer load profiles, including datacenters
• Optimize the mix and sizing of energy assets such as PV, BESS, and gas generation
• Manage feasibility studies and technical due diligence for gas-fired power plant development
• Oversee integration and functionality of Power Management Systems (PMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS)
• Develop engineering guidelines and design standards for microgrid and gas-fired power plant deployment
• Provide engineering review of vendor proposals and technology selection
• Perform techno-economic modeling and tradeoff analysis using tools like HOMER Pro, DER-CAM, or PLEXOS

Requirements

• 15+ years of senior leadership experience in microgrid power engineering and gas-fired power plant technical assessment
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, energy, business, or economics (Master’s preferred)
• Expertise in system sizing, load modeling, and PMS/EMS operations
• Specialized knowledge of gas turbine power generation, including environmental and safety systems
• Strong technical background in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Systems Engineering
• Proven ability to negotiate PPAs, vendor contracts, and supplier agreements

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Experience working with Tier-1 firms such as GHD, GE, Baker Hughes, AlphaStruxure, or Eaton
