About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Transactional practices, including Tax and Real Estate, to drive revenue growth and visibility.
  • Lead the development, execution, and review of strategic business development plans for relevant practices and lawyers.
  • Drive revenue generation initiatives including client targeting, market research, RFP responses, and client relationship reviews.
  • Manage and mentor a highly effective, geographically diverse team of marketing and business development professionals across the U.S.
  • Collaborate with Practice Group Leaders, the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer, and international leads on cross-practice opportunities.
  • Partner with communications, brand, and award teams to execute strategic visibility initiatives and build brand awareness.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to senior lawyers on business development and visibility initiatives.
  • Work with Market Intelligence and Knowledge Management teams to streamline business development processes and matter collection.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of professional services marketing and business development experience.
  • Significant management experience with a proven track record of leading large, diverse teams.
  • Experience working within highly sophisticated, matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in team building and transformational project management.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to develop long-term strategic marketing plans.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
