About the role
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines supporting cloud, on-prem, and embedded systems
- Integrate automated security testing (SAST, DAST, SCA, fuzzing) into development workflows
- Lead “shift-left” security initiatives across the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Design and enforce secure software supply chain practices, including artifact signing and SBOM generation
- Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Collaborate with software, firmware, and systems engineers to remediate vulnerabilities
- Implement identity and access management (IAM), secrets management, and encryption strategies
- Support compliance efforts aligned with standards such as NIST 800-171 and CMMC
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or security engineering
- Proficiency in programming or scripting with Python, Go, or Bash
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and secure cloud architecture
- Proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of application and infrastructure security (OWASP Top 10)
- Working knowledge of Linux, networking, and system security fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing pipelines for embedded firmware or real-time software
- Background in defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks like NIST 800-171, CMMC, or FedRAMP
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and policy-as-code
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+, AWS Security Specialty)
