Sr DCS Engineering Technologist

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of complex problems.
• Support plant operations and maintenance through troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical recommendations for assigned systems.
• Prepare accurate technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches related to plant analysis.
• Manage work activities through effective planning, organizing, estimating, and scheduling to meet business goals.
• Participate in capital improvement and maintenance projects as required.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to fellow Engineers and Engineering Technologists.

Requirements

• Associates in Engineering Technology with a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
• Alternatively, a High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting generating facilities (coal, natural gas, or simple cycle).
• Proficiency with DCS platforms such as Emerson Ovation or Siemens T3000.
• Experience with PLCs and various communication protocols (MODBUS, TCP/IP, serial, etc.).
• Knowledge of instrumentation, including the ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and tune control loops.
• Ability to review and implement controls logic changes.
• Understanding of NERC Cyber requirements and network/database management.
• Experience reading and interpreting plant Process & Instrument Diagrams.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology.
