Sr. Database Sales Specialist, Enterprise

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end database conversation, from commercial database migration (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) to open-source conversion (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and purpose-built non-relational databases.
• Drive Database GTM strategy by defining and executing account-level plans for AWS database technologies.
• Act as the primary domain authority for customer engagements regarding database platform strategy, migration planning, and workload modernization.
• Bridge technical and business stakeholders by translating complex migration risks and TCO models into compelling business narratives for C-suite leaders.
• Help customers reduce dependency on expensive commercial licenses by identifying migration paths and proving the value of open-source alternatives.
• Collaborate with the partner ecosystem and global system integrators to deliver migration programs at scale.

Requirements

• 7+ years of direct sales or business development experience in software, cloud, or SaaS markets, including selling to C-level executives.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in the database domain, with a demonstrated understanding of commercial, open-source, and/or non-relational databases.
• Proven ability to engage credibly with both technical practitioners (DBAs, engineers) and business decision-makers.
• Business-level fluency in Japanese.

Preferred Qualifications

• Business-level fluency in English.
• Experience positioning and selling technology to new customers and new market segments.
• Experience developing detailed go-to-market plans.
• Experience identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large-scale technology deals.
