Sr. Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize risk strategies to reduce card losses throughout the customer lifecycle
• Drive business strategy recommendations using data analytics on card authorization and customer spending behavior
• Build and implement machine learning models in Python to predict transaction-level risk and support fraud detection
• Develop business cases for new risk policies, vendor integrations, and infrastructure enhancements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in core payments, operations, risk, finance, and product to deploy optimal payment solutions
• Build and visualize risk metrics using Tableau or Looker to monitor approval trends, decline rates, and loss ratios

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering, Statistics, or a closely related field
• 2 years of experience in fraud and risk management, specifically regarding the debit card lifecycle
• 2 years of experience using regression and logistics statistical methods and Python for financial risk analysis
• 2 years of experience with SQL and querying large-scale financial transaction databases
• 2 years of experience with A/B testing and statistical validation to refine fraud rules
• 2 years of experience in the payments, e-commerce, or financial services industry
• 2 years of experience collaborating with product, operations, and engineering teams
• 2 years of experience building dashboards in Tableau or Looker
