Sr. Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions and ETL/ELT processes for data generation and collection
• Build and manage end-to-end data pipelines to support the Clinical Data Hub and drug development lifecycle
• Take ownership of data pipeline projects from inception to deployment, managing scope, timelines, and risks
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Scientists, and cross-functional teams to meet global business needs
• Implement data security, privacy measures, and data governance frameworks to protect sensitive information
• Leverage AWS cloud platforms to build efficient, high-performance data solutions
• Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and technical documentation to ensure data consistency
• Participate in sprint planning and adhere to best practices for coding, testing, and reusable component design

Requirements

• 8-12 years of experience in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies including Databricks, Apache Spark, PySpark, and SparkSQL
• Proficiency in Python and R for EDA, feature engineering, and machine learning model training
• Strong expertise in SQL and data analysis tools
• Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS
• Deep understanding of data governance, data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and compliance
• Excellent problem-solving skills and experience working with large, complex datasets

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications in Databricks, Cloud environments, or Machine Learning
• SAFe for Teams certification
• Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration concepts
• Experience with SageMaker and other cloud data platforms
• Domain knowledge in clinical development
