About the role
Responsibilities
- Drive business growth and market expansion for goat-based livelihoods and enterprises in Bihar.
- Support the implementation of business growth strategies for Goat Producer Companies (GPCs).
- Identify, negotiate, and establish commercial partnerships with traders, processors, and retailers.
- Strengthen village and cluster-level goat aggregation systems, including procurement and logistics.
- Assist in the design and operationalization of goat meat retail business models and outlets.
- Facilitate livestock feed and fodder business opportunities and market linkages.
- Support the integration of Producer Groups (PGs) with Goat Producer Companies.
- Provide capacity building, mentoring, and technical assistance to GPC staff and community leaders.
- Monitor enterprise performance and prepare regular progress reports and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Rural Development, Agribusiness, or a related field plus 7 years of relevant experience (including 3 years in team management).
- OR a Master's degree in a relevant field plus 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in agribusiness, livestock enterprises, or value chain development.
- Expertise in enterprise development, market linkages, and commercial operations.
- Strong negotiation, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently in challenging field environments.
- Knowledge of government schemes, grant management, and project implementation processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with international organizations or large-scale rural development projects.
- Deep understanding of the goat, meat, or livestock feed sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to convert business opportunities into tangible commercial outcomes.
