Sr. Component Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical authority for Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing teams
• Lead Component Failure Analysis investigations and drive systemic Corrective Actions to prevent recurrence
• Partner with Global Commodity Managers to identify alternate parts for risk mitigation and cost reduction
• Define the long-term preferred vendor list for electronic component vendors
• Enforce requirements compliance standards for Electrical Component Requests
• Drive alignment across design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain leadership on component strategy
• Develop and improve component-related problem resolution strategies within the supply chain

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Component Engineer in space, aerospace, industrial, automotive, or high-tech industries
• Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
• Experience working with and maintaining an eCAD library
• Expertise with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
• Experience leading component qualification programs for space or aerospace applications
• Proven ability to mentor team members and communicate clearly with leadership and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or an equivalent field
• Experience executing product design from concept to production within interdisciplinary teams
• Experience with project management of technical projects and coordinating between business stakeholders
• Experience creating qualification plans and leading obsolescence analyses for electronic components
• Knowledge of radiation effects on electronics and component derating practices
