Sr. Compliance Manager - Sanctions

Responsibilities

• Uplift the Wise US Inc. sanctions program to meet OCC expectations for the Wise National Trust (WNT)
• Oversee OCC-specific issues related to sanctions and develop an effective sanctions risk framework
• Collaborate with Sanctions Product Compliance, Product, and Engineering teams to strengthen controls
• Identify opportunities to improve customer experience by optimizing controls and operational processes
• Represent Wise in discussions with regulators, bank partners, and auditors
• Implement processes to proactively identify thematic issues and ensure prioritized remediation
• Work across global teams to ensure sanctions programs are fit for purpose across RFIs, Wise Platform, KYC, and Payment operations

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a sanctions advisory role within the financial services industry
• Prior experience with OCC regulatory expectations for sanctions programs
• Strong subject matter expertise in OFAC financial sanctions regimes and regulations
• Deep understanding of SWIFT, cross-border payments, card payments, and trade finance
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive projects with competing priorities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with senior management reporting and organizational risk awareness

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working within a fintech environment
• Data expertise with the ability to use data to determine control effectiveness and articulate risk
