About the role
Responsibilities
- Own commercial and contractual management of construction and design suppliers, acting as the primary point of contact for negotiations and performance management.
- Lead category and supplier strategies for construction and professional services, including cost reduction and supply base optimization.
- Drive commercial negotiations for construction contracts, including fee structures, pricing, risk allocation, and change management.
- Apply quantity surveying and cost management expertise to cost planning, value engineering, and financial controls.
- Provide commercial advice to project teams regarding procurement strategies, tendering methods, and financial risk management.
- Establish and monitor supplier performance frameworks using KPIs and regular performance reviews.
- Partner cross-functionally with project management, engineering, legal, and finance teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 6 years of experience in construction, quantity surveying, estimating, or construction procurement.
- Demonstrated experience leading construction contracts, supplier negotiations, and managing commercial risk on complex capital projects.
- Strong understanding of construction pricing, cost control, change management, and contract administration.
- Proven ability to influence partners across project, engineering, and executive leadership levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as RICS, MRICS, PMI, PMP, CPSM, CPM, APICS, or PE.
- Experience supporting large-scale capital construction programs, EPC, design-build, or progressive GMP delivery models.
- Advanced expertise in quantity surveying, including valuation of work and financial claims analysis.
- Experience working in a global or multi-site construction environment with complex supplier ecosystems.
