Sr. Associate, Technical Writing

Responsibilities

• Gather, compose, and edit technical information to prepare flight manuals, maintenance manuals, and other technical documentation for defense programs.
• Author Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), technical maintenance manuals, and Flight Operation Manuals.
• Interpret engineering drawings, wire lists, schematics, hardware specifications, and software requirements.
• Conduct interviews with engineering personnel to ensure documentation is precise, comprehensive, and meets professional/MIL standards.
• Work independently on complex projects and meet defined budgets and schedule deadlines.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external customers to deliver quality publication deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of technical publication authoring experience in structured authoring environments.
• Graduate Degree with 0-2 years of technical publication authoring experience in structured authoring environments.
• Or 6 years of technical publication authoring experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with structured or unstructured FrameMaker.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an S1000D environment for Air Force programs.
• Familiarity with S1000D Standard, Webex authoring, and Localized CSDB.
• Familiarity with engineering development, testing, and planning processes.
