About the role

Responsibilities

  • Focus on the mechanical design and development of test fixtures and electrical tester racks for electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical products
  • Perform extensive CAD modeling and create detailed engineering documentation
  • Utilize various machine shop tools to create custom parts from stock material or modify existing components
  • Collaborate with design engineers, machinists, technicians, and safety teams to ensure optimal test fixture design
  • Present designs to internal and external customers to review and address technical issues
  • Travel up to 10% of the year as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with at least 2 years of experience, or a Graduate Degree with 0-2 years of experience
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or NX
  • Solid understanding of standard manufacturing equipment including mills, lathes, drill presses, and 3D printers
  • Strong knowledge of classical physics and mechanical engineering theory (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, etc.)
  • Experience creating technical documentation such as engineering drawings and operating instructions
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and methods
  • Intermediate experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of DoD and MIL standards or experience in highly regulated industries
  • Experience with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards
  • Master of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
