About the role
Responsibilities
- Review and approve daily trade captures for capital market instruments including derivatives, fixed income, equities, and loans
- Manage derivative cash settlements and perform daily cash reconciliations between HOOPP and the custodian
- Provide guidance, direction, and knowledge transfer to junior staff regarding complex derivative strategies and new products
- Act as the first escalation point for researching and resolving complex operational issues
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of positions and follow up on discrepancies
- Process mandatory and voluntary corporate actions for fund holdings
- Lead special projects to improve processing capabilities and recommend controls to reduce operational risk
- Assist with investment accounting, reporting, and audit efforts
Requirements
- University degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline
- Completion or enrollment in a professional designation program, such as the CFA
- At least 7 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably within capital markets
- Deep expertise in derivative instruments including swaps, options, and futures
- Strong knowledge of capital market instruments such as fixed income and equities
- Understanding of investment accounting standards and principles
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
