Sr Analyst, Commercial Credit

Responsibilities

• Evaluate potential counterparties' creditworthiness and establish credit approval criteria and limits.
• Monitor credit exposures and counterparty credit standing to ensure compliance with risk management policies.
• Manage the onboarding of external legal entities, including marketing, terminal, storage, and pipeline facilities.
• Mentor junior credit analysts in credit scoring, analysis, and review processes.
• Maintain the credit and collateral system of record, including parent guarantees, letters of credit, and credit insurance.
• Develop reporting layouts within the credit system for daily tasks and periodic management reporting.
• Coordinate with credit leadership and finance teams to ensure exposures remain within approved limits.

Requirements

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Knowledge of energy-trading credit risk management, research, and standard industry practices.
• Understanding of trade finance and borrowing base credit facility reporting concepts.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret financial statements prepared under US GAAP or IFRS.
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a complex, dynamic environment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Local presence in Houston, Texas, or the surrounding communities.
