Sr. Advanced Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform engineering-level quality functions to ensure product reliability and minimize quality costs.
• Complete and document all phases of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.
• Prepare and submit all necessary PPAP documentation per AIAG or VDA guidelines.
• Develop gauge concepts and procure gauges for specific programs.
• Work with component and tooling/equipment suppliers to improve products and resolve manufacturing problems.
• Participate in Simultaneous Development Teams (SDTs) and internal audits.
• Support the Product Introduction Process through all phases of prototype fabrication and delivery.
• Ensure appropriate statistical methods are utilized throughout the Product and Process Development process and deployed into the Control Plan.
• Resolve customer, internal, and supplier quality issues using problem-solving methods such as 8-D, DOE, 5 Why, and Kepner-Tregoe.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a technical area.
• Minimum 7 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Extensive knowledge of core quality disciplines including IATF, ISO/TS 16949, VDA, FMEA, and Control Plans.
• Proven experience with PPAP documentation and review.
• Proficiency in statistical methods and tools such as SPC and DOE.
• Strong problem-solving skills using methodologies like 8-D, 5 Why, or Red X.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the automotive manufacturing industry.
