Sr. Accountant GL

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting in accordance with Hempel policies, IFRS, and local standards, including fixed assets, depreciation, accruals, and provisions.
• Coordinate month-end close activities for assigned accounts in collaboration with the Finance Controller.
• Prepare high-quality balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Ensure accurate monthly financial reporting in OneStream, complying with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
• Conduct detailed trial balance reviews and identify discrepancies to drive corrective actions.
• Support internal, external, statutory, and group audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Lead or support Record-to-Report (RtR) projects, process improvements, and agile initiatives.
• Provide guidance and training to new joiners and RTR team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial reporting, controlling, or a related business function.
• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Experience working in international environments, preferably within a Shared Service Center (SSC) setup.
• Advanced Excel skills, including macros, modeling, pivot tables, and lookups.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to communicate financial information concisely.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, or IFRS certification.
• Experience working with Financial Consolidation Systems.
