SQL Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced, high-performance SQL queries across large, complex datasets using multi-table joins, window functions, and aggregations
• Optimize query performance through execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and query refactoring
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all reporting datasets
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues across database and application layers
• Shape and structure data to support efficient and intuitive dashboard visualizations
• Collaborate with ETL engineers and dashboard developers to ensure reliable, end-to-end data delivery

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 8–12 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6–10 years of experience
• U.S. Citizenship
• Active TS/SCI with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph
• Expert-level SQL skills, including complex joins, query optimization, and window functions
• Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle
• Experience working with large-scale data supporting analytics and reporting
• Proficiency in Linux environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Grafana or similar data visualization tools
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, scripting, and automation (e.g., pandas)
• Experience with materialized views, caching strategies, or query acceleration techniques
