About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, and maintain web and database applications.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Monitor and maintain database performance, availability, and security for Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Perform data import and export processes to meet institutional data needs.
  • Support integration between internal systems and third-party applications.
  • Utilize version control tools like Azure DevOps or Git to manage code changes.
  • Assist in preparing and validating data for institutional, state, and federal reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Institutional Research team to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain queries, views, and datasets for recurring reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in software development, database management, or data reporting.
  • Proficiency in SQL, specifically with Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Institutional Research or higher education data reporting functions.
  • Advanced experience with Oracle Database (PL/SQL, schema management, performance tuning).
  • Familiarity with .NET, ASPX/ASPX.NET, or similar development frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data governance, FERPA, or higher education data standards (IPEDS).
